Despite the increasing number of areas in which EU law applies and the growing Europeanisation of domestic law, ERA has faced the challenge of maintaining diversity and scope in its conference programme over the years. Training opportunities

In order to more effectively address the requirements of practitioners, ERA has significantly enhanced its practical training programme in recent years. Initially, this pertains to a sequence of intensive one-week summer courses that are designed for young professionals and non-specialists. We make every effort to guarantee that these courses are of the highest quality. They are all designed to be interactive, incorporating case studies, practical seminars, and role-playing to enable participants to immediately apply the knowledge they have acquired.

ERA Forum

An essential platform

The quarterly legal journal, published in cooperation with Springer, upholds its impact as a key publication for the European legal discourse.

Since its launch in 2007, ERA Forum has become an essential platform for disseminating contributions from ERA’s conferences, transforming outstanding presentations into peer-reviewed articles authored by leading figures in the judiciary, private practice, public administration, and academia.

Facilities & conference services

2024 Report

In addition to our own educational training activities which are held at ERA’s premises, external events are also regularly hosted here. This taxable activity is marketed under the ERA Conference Centre (ECC). The events are for example trade fairs, congresses, conferences and seminars or receptions. The ECC has had a special relationship with the neighbouring hotel Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Trier. This hotel also organises events for their clients at the ECC.

ECC Revenue

Although ECC revenues are still low compared to the very successful years of 2018 and 2019, ECC revenues in 2024 were 13% higher than planned, despite the limited resources available. However, costs increased proportionally by less than 5%, which is significantly less..
